Job Description

Our client is a leading national law firm with a busy Sydney competition, regulatory and disputes practice. Sustained growth has created a permanent opportunity for a Senior Associate to take genuine day to day carriage of matters, with the autonomy that usually sits a level or two further up.
Why you'll love it here
• $180,000 to $225,000 depending on experience
• Day to day carriage of your own matters rather than running someone else's file
• Corporate regulatory investigations and competition work that is hard to find outside a national practice
• Direct work with the partners and special counsel running the practice group
• Real investment in your development, including study and exam leave
• Permanent, full time, Sydney CBD
About the role
The practice spans commercial litigation, insolvency, shareholder and contractual disputes, and corporate regulatory investigations, so the file mix stays varied.
• Running litigation end to end, including briefing counsel
• Drafting court documents, pleadings, affidavits and interlocutory applications
• Articulating technical arguments clearly to clients and to the court
• Researching complex questions and distilling them for senior practitioners
• Building and maintaining client relationships alongside the partners
• Supporting the practice group's goals and mentoring junior lawyers
What you'll bring
• 5 to 8 years' post admission experience in commercial litigation or disputes
• Current Australian practising certificate
• Experience briefing counsel and drafting court documents
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• The ability to manage your own workflow and deadlines with minimal supervision
• A collaborative approach and genuine willingness to help during peak periods
