About the Client:

Our client is an award-winning boutique law firm with a reputation that speaks for itself. Frequently recognised in Doyle’s Guide and the Australian legal community, the firm has grown under the leadership of a visionary founder with over 25 years in the profession. Their commitment to excellence is matched only by their investment in people and relationships.

With a team of 25 legal professionals, they’ve built a workplace culture anchored in collaboration, trust, and results. Known for quality over volume, their legal services span multiple disciplines—yet Family Law remains one of their most significant areas of practice, supported by long-standing client trust and steady referrals.

About the Position:

This is not just another Family Law role—this is an opportunity to take the helm.

Our client is searching for a dynamic, high-calibre Family Lawyer to lead their Family Law division and shape its future. As Division Head, you’ll steer strategy, mentor a capable team, and cultivate the firm’s existing reputation as a leader in complex family matters.

You’ll manage a stimulating portfolio of files including high-value property settlements, intricate parenting arrangements, and sensitive domestic violence cases—supported by a junior lawyer and experienced paralegals. With reduced daily billable targets (approx. 4.33 hours), your time is optimised for impact—not just output.

This position is ideal for a Senior Associate or Special Counsel ready to step into a leadership role, or a current Partner who craves greater influence and flexibility without compromising on prestige.

Key Requirements:
  • Minimum 8 years of specialised Family Law experience
  • Accreditation in Family Law (preferred or in progress)
  • Deep technical knowledge in property, parenting, divorce & DV
  • Track record of mentoring, leadership, and high client satisfaction
  • Commercial thinker with the confidence to drive growth
  • A strong personal brand and passion for excellence
What’s On Offer:
  • Premium leadership role with strategic oversight and autonomy
  • Attractive salary package – Up to $250K+ for the right candidate
  • Equity potential and performance bonuses
  • Hybrid work flexibility – up to two days remote
  • Influential position in a firm that values voice, vision, and integrity
  • Collaborative, high-performing culture recognised nationwide
  • Reduced billable targets to focus on impact and mentorship
