The Firm

A mid-tier Australian firm that is known for its incredibly collegiate and collaborative work environment, with supportive senior lawyers who are happy to mentor junior lawyers to maximise their potential.

The firm's Construction team is well-integrated and therefore it is imperative for the ideal applicant to be well-rounded: with both transactional skills and dispute resolution and litigation skills.

The firm is a big believer in maximising their lawyers' potentials and therefore is committed to steering their lawyers through a clear pathway to success and seniority over time.

The firm's pedigree means that it competes regularly with top tier firms for clients and work, as such, the matters that the successful candidate will experience at the firm will be challenging and cutting-edge.  The clients you will be dealing with are equally highly sophisticated.

The Role

A front-end Construction Lawyer is required to join at a Senior Associate level.  To be eligible for this role you must already be employed in a Senior Associate role.  The ideal applicant does not have to specialise in front-end Construction Law but must have strong transactional skills and experience.

  • Convenient office location in the Melbourne CBD, close to law courts, public transport, eateries and shops
  • Opportunity to join a firm known for its low staff turnover and excellent work environment
  • Opportunity to join a large firm with resources to protect your long-term job security and career progression, subject to performance
  • Opportunity to expand on your existing leadership skills and experience in a Senior role
  • Rare opportunity to join a large firm that is open to granting flexible work options
  • Opportunity to be remunerated proportionately with your experience and output
  • Additional benefits, including private health cover, and structured professional development programs to prevent stagnation in your evolution as an excellent lawyer
  • Opportunity to access a progressive law firm that embraces diversity and proactively contributes to the local community by way of a pro bono practice
Essential Requirements
  • 3 - 5 years PAE exclusively in the Construction Law
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: clear plain English communication skills and a team player
  • Direct liaison experience with sophisticated clients
