Job Description

Position Overview:

Lead institutional liability and professional misconduct matters at one of Melbourne CBD’s top defence firms, sharpening your litigation expertise and accelerating your career progression.

About the Firm:

Our client is a premier criminal and disciplinary defence practice located in the Melbourne CBD region, acting for individuals and organisations in everything from traffic offences to complex white-collar crime, professional misconduct and inquests. The firm is ranked first-tier in Doyle’s Guide and its senior lawyers work closely with Melbourne’s leading barristers to deliver bespoke representation.

What You’ll Be Doing:

As part of a small specialist team, you will:
  • Conduct detailed legal research and draft strategic advices on regulatory and disciplinary issues.
  • Manage files end-to-end—including drafting court documents, liaising with barristers and clients.
  • Appear for clients at committal hearings and support superior court appeals.
  • Coordinate case strategy across a diverse range of criminal and professional misconduct matters.
What You’ll Bring:
  • Admission in Victoria with 3–5 years PQE in litigation or regulatory practice.
  • Experience handling disciplinary, administrative or institutional liability matters.
  • Strong drafting, advocacy and analytical research skills.
  • Client-focused approach with excellent communication and organisational abilities.
