This is a unique opportunity for an experienced Special Counsel to take a leadership role in a firm that thrives on collaboration and excellence.

About the Firm

Our client is an award - winning specialist construction and commercial law firm based in Sydney, known for providing strategic legal solutions to developers, contractors, and industry stakeholders. With deep expertise across construction, commercial litigation, and insolvency law, the firm is recognised for its innovative approach and commitment to delivering outstanding client outcomes.

About the Role

You will work closely with major construction industry clients, advising on complex insolvency, restructuring, and commercial litigation matters. The role involves both front-end advisory work and high-stakes dispute resolution, ensuring businesses navigate financial distress, contractual disputes, and regulatory challenges effectively.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead insolvency & commercial litigation matters for clients in the construction sector
  • Advise on corporate restructuring, securities enforcement, and director liability
  • Represent clients in complex commercial disputes, contract terminations, and adjudications
  • Collaborate with the firm's construction, employment, and corporate teams on multi-disciplinary matters
  • Mentor and develop junior lawyers while contributing to business development initiatives

Key Requirements
  • 8+ years PAE in commercial litigation & insolvency law, with a focus on the construction sector
  • Proven expertise in insolvency, restructuring, securities enforcement, and disputes
  • Strong ability to manage high-profile matters and client relationships
  • A leadership mindset with a passion for mentoring and driving business growth
