Nepean Blue Mountains Local Health District is seeking Locum General Medicine Doctors from RMO through to CMO level to support General Medicine roster coverage.

This role offers an excellent opportunity to broaden your acute medical and ward-based experience in a supportive, well-structured hospital environment.
Shifts are available across ad-hoc and block booking options, depending on your availability and experience.

Clinical Environment

You will provide General Medicine cover within Nepean Blue Mountains LHD.

• General Medicine exposure – manage a range of acute and chronic medical presentations
• Multiple levels considered – suitable for RMO, SRMO, Registrar and CMO-level doctors
• Ward-based experience – support inpatient reviews, documentation and management plans
• Collaborative team environment – work closely with consultants, nursing, allied health and hospital teams
• Flexible locum options – choose from ad-hoc shifts or block bookings to suit your schedule

Patient Demographic

You will support a broad General Medicine patient mix, including adults, older patients, acute medical admissions, chronic disease presentations, complex comorbidities and patients requiring review, management planning, escalation or ongoing ward-based care.

Key Duties

• Review and manage General Medicine patients within scope
• Support ward-based care, acute reviews and patient flow
• Complete clinical documentation and handover
• Assist with management plans and escalation of care
• Work collaboratively with consultants, nursing, allied health and medical teams
• Escalate patient concerns appropriately when required

Requirements

• Current AHPRA Registration
• Minimum PGY2+ with recent General Medicine experience
• ALS certification preferred
• Australian working rights
• Ability to work safely within scope and escalate appropriately
• Current CV, references and compliance documents as required
