Job Description
Our client is a multi-award-winning specialist employment law and workplace investigations firm with offices in Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane. They are now looking for talented employment lawyers at Associate through to Special Counsel level to join their growing Sydney practice.
What this firm offers you
Market-leading remuneration: Up to $190,000 + super + structured performance bonuses. The firm rewards results, not face time.
Award-winning pedigree: Multiple wins as Employment Law Specialist Firm of the Year (Australasian Law Awards). Recognised as a Top Boutique Firm and a leader in workplace relations nationally.
Genuine hybrid flexibility: This is not a token gesture. The firm was built on flexibility from day one, well before COVID made it fashionable. You control your hours and your location. Deadlines matter; where and when you work does not.
High-calibre, meaningful work: Complex investigations for major corporations and government agencies. This is not volume employment advice. Every matter is substantive, challenging, and high-impact.
Career progression without politics: Clear pathways from Associate through to Special Counsel and beyond. A flat, non-hierarchical structure where your contribution is visible and valued.
National reach: Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane offices. Flexibility to work across jurisdictions.
Work-life balance that is actually real: Founded by lawyers who left traditional firms specifically to build a sustainable way of practising law. This is embedded in the firm's DNA, not an afterthought.
About the Position:
Conducting and leading complex workplace investigations into serious misconduct, bullying, sexual harassment, psychosocial hazards, and institutional complaints
Preparing investigation reports designed to withstand legal scrutiny and ensure procedural fairness
Providing strategic advice on terminations, restructures, performance management, and workplace policies.
Requirements:
Admitted as a Solicitor in NSW (or eligible for mutual recognition)
Minimum 2 years PAE in employment law, workplace relations, or a related field. Senior Associate and Special Counsel candidates with 5 to 10+ years PAE are strongly encouraged to apply.
Demonstrated experience advising on employment law matters with increasing complexity and autonomy
Strong written skills, particularly in drafting investigation reports, legal advice, and workplace policies
A genuine interest in workplace investigations and the ability to handle sensitive, high-stakes matters with discretion and thoroughness
