Our client is a respected independent Australian law firm known for delivering high-quality legal services to corporate, public, and private clients across Australia and internationally.
An exciting opportunity is available for a Senior Associate Corporate Lawyer to join our client’s Corporate & Commercial team in Sydney. This position offers hands-on experience in complex cross-border and domestic M&A transactions, working directly alongside a highly regarded Partner who leads the firm's NSW-based China Desk.
About the position Key areas of focus include:
- Acquisitions, disposals, joint ventures and business sales
- Foreign Investment Review Board (FIRB) applications and regulatory approvals
- Corporate restructuring, governance, and strategic advisory
- Licensing, general commercial contracting and corporate compliance
You'll be part of a team ranked in Band 4 of The Legal 500 (2025) and known for its strength in mid-market transactions, with a client base including private equity firms, listed entities, long-term capital providers, insurers and large private enterprises.
On offer - Salary range: $150,000 – $190,000 + Super + Bonus, depending on experience

Key Requirements - Minimum 5 years of post-admission experience in corporate and commercial law
- Fluent in Mandarin
- Proven background in M&A transactions and corporate restructuring
- Experience in drafting and negotiating acquisition documents
- FIRB and other regulatory approval experience highly desirable
- Background from a mid-tier, top-tier or large international firm is advantageous
- Mandarin language skills (conversational or fluent) highly regarded
- Strong leadership, communication, and mentoring abilities
- Client-centric mindset with exceptional attention to detail
