About the Position:

Our client is seeking a seasoned Building & Construction Lawyer who can bring a transferrable practice and is ready to leverage their existing relationships in a more entrepreneurial and financially rewarding environment.
You will advise developers, contractors, architects, engineers, and commercial property professionals on both front-end and back-end construction matters, including:
  • Drafting and negotiating construction contracts (AS, ABIC, FIDIC, bespoke)
  • Managing adjudications, security of payment disputes, and building defect claims
  • Advising on risk management, project delivery, and regulatory compliance
  • Representing clients in litigation and alternative dispute resolution processes
This is a strategic opportunity for someone looking to take ownership of their practice with the support of experienced lawyers, marketing teams, and operational staff—while retaining a significant share of their billings.

Key Takeaways and Offerings:
  • Salary Range $250,000 - $350,000 and Pathways to Equity Partnership
  • Full marketing, admin, and operational support to streamline your work to build your existing practice.
  • Cross-referral opportunities across strong practice areas
  • Work alongside likeminded senior lawyers in a boutique environment
  • Stunning Offices located in the Westfield Tower Sydney CBD
  • A great team of Senior Partners, Senior Associates and Junior Lawyers who work hard but also enjoy regular social events and yearly trips away.

About the Firm:

Our client is a leading advisory-driven law firm offering integrated legal, commercial, and strategic solutions with a unique focus on the franchising, property, and construction sectors.
  • Deep sector expertise in construction, franchising, and commercial property law
  • Trusted advisor to builders, developers, investors, and franchise networks across Australia
  • Strong reputation for delivering strategic, commercially-aligned legal outcomes
  • Multi-disciplinary approach combining legal insight with broader business strategy
  • Agile firm structure that empowers senior lawyers to drive their own practice within a supportive framework
Requirements:
  • 10-20 Years PAE in Building / Construction Law
  • Strong mix of front-end and back-end experience
  • Demonstrated ability to manage or bring a $500K+ practice
  • Solid track record advising developers, contractors, and consultants
  • Commitment to client service, commercial outcomes, and business growth
  • Leadership qualities and interest in mentoring junior lawyers (optional)
