The Opportunity:
Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking experienced GP VMOs and CMOs to provide emergency department coverage at rural and regional hospitals across the district.
You'll be the senior decision-maker onsite during your shift, managing a broad range of emergency presentations and stabilising patients for retrieval or admission as needed.
This is a highly rewarding locum opportunity for clinicians confident in rural emergency practice and seeking well-paid, flexible roles with strong local support.
Clinical Environment: - Work independently with backup from experienced nursing teams and robust escalation pathways
- Manage a diverse caseload across trauma, acute medical, and paediatric presentations
- Deliver essential care in hospitals with strong community connections and support from regional retrieval services
- Enjoy clinical autonomy in well-equipped emergency departments with access to telehealth and specialist consultation
Eligibility Criteria: - General or Specialist AHPRA Registration
- NSW Working with Children Check and Police Check
- Australian working rights
- Willingness to complete HNELHD onboarding and credentialing
