Registrar - ED MPU (General Medicine) | Hunter New England LHD | Up to $200/hour | Travel & Accom Covered | Flexible Locum Shifts
The Opportunity: Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking General Medicine Registrars to provide locum support to their Emergency Department Medical Assessment Unit (ED MPU).
You’ll assess and manage acute general medical patients in a multidisciplinary team environment, working closely with physicians, nursing staff, and allied health.
Ideal for registrars seeking rural exposure, strong supervision, and high-value short-term placements in a well-supported clinical setting.
Clinical Environment: - Exposure to a broad general medical case mix with ED interface
- Opportunity to refine diagnostic and decision-making skills in acute care
- Supportive supervision from general physicians and senior clinicians
- Work in a collaborative setting with structured handovers and escalation processes
- Strengthen procedural and communication skills in a regional teaching hospital
Eligibility Criteria: - General AHPRA Registration
- Minimum PGY3+ with recent general medicine or acute care experience
- NSW Working with Children Check and Police Check
- Australian working rights
- Willingness to complete HNELHD onboarding and credentialing
