The Opportunity: Hunter New England LHD is seeking experienced
Consultants / VMOs / Staff Specialists in Paediatrics to provide locum support across its regional hospital network.
Depending on the site, you’ll provide cover for
inpatient paediatric wards, newborn care, and ED consults, including after-hours and on-call requirements.
Clinical Environment : - Clinical autonomy to lead paediatric care in hospitals where your expertise is vital to the local community
- Broad exposure to general paediatrics, acute ED presentations, neonatal stabilisation, and ward-based care
- Collaborate with skilled nursing teams, junior doctors, and remote retrieval services, ensuring safe and efficient care
- Opportunity to work in modern facilities with EMR systems and defined escalation protocols
- Deliver care where it counts—supporting children and families with limited access to metropolitan paediatric services
- Ideal for FRACP paediatricians who enjoy hands-on practice, independence, and making a tangible difference
Eligibility Criteria: - AHPRA Specialist Registration
- Fellowship with RACP (Paediatrics and Child Health) or equivalent
- Experience with neonatal resuscitation and ED consults
- NSW Working with Children Check and Police Check
- Willingness to complete onboarding and credentialing
