I'm currently partnering with a well-established boutique commercial firm in Sydney that is looking to appoint an experienced Intellectual Property Lawyer to join their team.

This opportunity is ideal for a lawyer who enjoys working closely with entrepreneurial clients — helping them protect, manage, and commercialise their intellectual property across trade marks, copyright, branding, and licensing matters.

About the Firm and Position:
  
This firm is known for its practical, commercially minded legal advice and strong client base across franchising, retail, tech, and high-growth industries. Their IP practice plays a pivotal role in safeguarding the brands and assets of growing businesses both domestically and internationally.
The Role You’ll work alongside experienced commercial and franchising lawyers, advising clients on:

• Trade mark strategy, filing, and portfolio management (domestic & international)
• Drafting and negotiating IP licensing, assignment, and confidentiality agreements
• Copyright and design rights
• IP enforcement and infringement matters
• Brand protection strategies with a commercial focus

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years PAE + Sydney experience in Intellectual Property Law,  with trade mark experience
• Comfortable running client matters autonomously
• Strong drafting and communication skills
• Commercial acumen and a proactive, client-focused approach
• Experience with franchising or brand-heavy clients will be highly regarded
