Senior Litigation Lawyer with insolvency experience wanted for a boutique Sydney firm
A rare opportunity has opened for an experienced Insolvency and Commercial Litigation Lawyer to join our client’s high-performing boutique team in Sydney. If you're looking for greater autonomy, hands-on client work, and complex matters—this role delivers on all fronts.

About the position: This is a senior-level opportunity offering a mix of high-value litigation and insolvency matters. You’ll work independently on complex files, regularly appear in superior courts, and engage directly with clients and stakeholders.
Key responsibilities include:
- Advising on corporate and personal insolvency matters, including liquidations, bankruptcies, administrations, and receiverships
- Acting in Federal and Supreme Court litigation (with or without counsel)
- Drafting pleadings, affidavits, legal opinions, and settlement agreements
- Leading disputes involving security enforcement, voidable transactions, director claims and debt recovery
- Mentoring junior lawyers and contributing to the continued growth of the practice
About the Firm: Our client is a respected boutique law firm specialising in insolvency, restructuring, and commercial disputes, with a client base that includes liquidators, trustees, directors, and mid-sized businesses. Known for their pragmatic and commercially sound legal advice, this firm delivers top-tier results without the red tape and hierarchy of larger practices.
Key Requirements: - Minimum 5 years PAE in commercial litigation and insolvency
- Strong courtroom experience across Federal and State jurisdictions
- Ability to manage files autonomously and provide strategic direction
- Excellent drafting, negotiation, and client management skills
- Commercial thinker with the ability to balance legal precision with practical solutions
- Desire to work in a lean, agile team with direct client exposure
