Job Description
The Opportunity:
Hunter New England LHD is seeking an experienced Consultant/Staff Specialist/VMO (General Practice – Obstetrics) to provide locum coverage across regional maternity services. You’ll provide antenatal care, procedural obstetrics, and GP sessions while participating in the local on-call roster.
Clinical Environment:
GP clinics, shared birthing unit on-call, and obstetric support
Midwifery-led units with escalation and retrieval protocols
Strong community engagement and rural team culture
Opportunities for repeat bookings and extended locums
Eligibility Criteria:
AHPRA Registration
FRACGP or FACRRM with DRANZCOG
Recent experience in procedural GP Obstetrics
ALS2 and NSW Working with Children Check
